MV: Bigbang's Love Song

i don't know how to start this entry. I logged into a site i frequent for kpop news and i saw Bigbang already released the music video for their new song, Love Song. oh my God! i'm only halfway through the video but i love it soooo much i felt compelled to go here and blog about it already. It isn't so surprising to notice too that the video already has around 19k "likes" but the "view" count is only at 7k, which is a clear indication that a LOOOTTT of people are viewing the video at the same time, so much so that Youtube's view counter got stucked. omo! i almost wish they're my age so it isn't that awkward liking them so much. but what the hell, age is just a number. It isn't like i wanna end up with one of them or anything like that haha, i'm not crazy. I just really like their music, and the fact that they write their own songs, and they're all so kawaii too, lol. *sigh* can i love Bigbang even more than i do now? No. not possible.

old song> Your Eyes by Cook Da Books

I'm an 80's baby, and back when I was little we'd listen to the radio all day. And I'd hear great old songs all the time... a lot of Air Supply, Menudo, etc. And then I heard this song and I really loved it, but I never found out the title nor the artist, til maybe about a decade later. Then towards the end of grade school, i read an excerpt of the novel Little Women, the scene where Laurie and Jo met for the first time at a party, and while reading it, this song kept replaying in my mind. Fast forward to college, i had the habit of tuning in to Love Radio to lull me to sleep. and then this song played. and right then and there I called up the DJ at the station to ask about it. This is how it went down ( i was speaking in local dialect):

Me: uh hello.. i wanted to ask about that song you played maybe about 15mins ago..
DJ: which one?
Me: am actually calling to ask for the title and the artist so I can't tell you.. but i do know there's "eyes" on the lyrics..
DJ: can you sing a part it?
Me:( and this is where it got funny. i can't sing for the life of me and I'm also embarassed to sing over the phone so I just said)..  can I just hum it.. and i proceeded to hum > mmmm..hmmmm.. lalalalal.... lmao!!

Good thing the DJ got it and was able to name the artist. *sigh* i was so happy I finally knew it so i could liste to it whenever i want to. It was hard before cos all the people I ask never seem to have heard about it and i had to hum every time hahah. good thing, mystery got solved..

My Fave Asian Actors!!

ok, so I've been trying to finish this video for like a couple of months now, but I can't seem to find the right song to use. And due to some major changes i.e. change of work and moving into a new apartment, this was pushed to the back burner.

And then, at work today, in class (am still in training) I was asked to name my favorite Korean actor. It was quite an awkward moment. First because there are a lot of Asian actors that I like to name just one, and secondly, I don't really watch that much Korean dramas since I usually prefer the Japanese ones. I was gonna name Osamu Mukai or Kenichi Matsuyama but I had this feeling they might not be familiar with them and would all go "Huh!?"

So anyway, it did remind me that I had this video and as luck would have it I also stumbled into a song that I finally think is perfect. I'm not really into Wondergirls or that famous song, and I don't even like one their members, Sohee, but yeah, i still think the song is perfect. So, to cut the story short, my video is finally up! yay! *.^

Mika Nakashima 中島美嘉

Music is indeed universal. That's the reason why I love music, regardless of the language. I once said after posting a Japanese music video: " My mind can't understand a word that's being said, but obviously my heart does."

Mika Nakashima is one of my favorite j-pop artist. I actually came to know her not because of her music first but because of her role in a movie that I saw: Nana. I loved that movie, and I loved the song Glamorous Days. So I got to know her as an actress before a singer. Getting to know her as a singer, i was.simply.blown.away. Again, i can understand just a few words here and there but when i listen to her songs, my heart is, i don't know, seems like it's feeling all the emotions the song is meant to convey. I feel sad. I feel in love. I can feel a deep melancholy, a longing. Thanks to this songs, my life may not be a roller coaster ride, but it allows me to experience emotions i'd otherwise only feel every now and then, feelings that are few and far between.
