Yowza!

I have to admit this is a very late post. In fact, three years late. Okaay, so I've been living under a rock haha. I was just going through some random songs on myspace when I heard Susan Boyle's version of Memory. I said, she really does have a lovely voice. So i looked her up on youtube to check out her audition tapes and chanced upon her very  first audition video for Britain's Got Talent in '09. I mean, I know her. I've heard of her and her songs but I've never watched THAT video. Wow! it is really is one of those wow moments. I can't help but cry during the vid. She truly is inspirational. I have to remind myself over and over again good looks isn't all that. Look for what's inside. Okay, it's a cliche but it's true though. So I thought of making this post about people and videos that made my hair stand on its end, in a good way. :) wow moments. Right now i can' t think of everything but Susan Boyle's video and this unforgettable scene from the movie The Pianist, i think, is an apt way to open this post.

The year is almost over!!

Yes, hard to believe right? This has been an amazing year, a loooot of exciting things happened! Thank you Lord! and to end the year, I got myself my first DSLR, a Nikon D5100  and a Japanese Language Exchange Partner!  Gambatte! :)

Got the cam two weeks ago but had been so busy I didn't had the time to go out and play around with it so during my day off from work I went to Clarkfield and took some shots. Not really familiar with the functions yet so i pretty much just switch from auto to manual mode and just clicked away.  At the same time, dropped by a restaurant that I like, Cafe Mesa. Too bad this time they're playing some classical music instead of A Walk To Remember OST like the last time I was there. So here are some pics:

PARADE GROUND

i miss jogging here. although I was never able to run its entire length  without stopping to rest :p

i have a thing for footballers lol and drummers haha i like Ki Sung Yueng

there's something melancholy about empty bleachers. reminds me of the book Friday Night Lights

The non-aircon area (smoking area? not so sure, I've never seen any patron smoke.

K-Drama: Rooftop Prince

thoughts while/after watching this drama...

..  who knows if I've waited for 200 years. I can wait another hundred if that's what it takes.

..  if you had to wait 300 years in order to have a happy ending with the person you're destined to be,
             would you do it?

..  a love like that. does it even exist?

BIGBANG Alive Tour 2012 Manila 20121024

So i watched Bigbang's Alive Tour concert in MOA Arena yesterday. We waited  for maybe 3 months since we last got our ticket the day it was released. So you can imagine how hype up we all were to see the boys in action. It was more than I could ever hope for. They were amazing!! My ears are still ringing from all the screaming hahahha. Granted, some people didn't get to see maybe the first 20 minutes of the show since the concert started while there were still people lining outside but it was not the boys fault. The organizer just plain sucked! And Bigbang made up for it by having the longeeeest encore stage ever, it was almost half an hour, the longest encore during the tour. So here's bits and pieces of what I remember the most.

1. It was a family event for some. While we were getting herded like a flock of sheeps, some parents are just outside the rail checking up on their kids from time to time, moving on the line with us haha. At one point, one parent even reprimanded security and demanded why the organizers weren't bringing in more people. Oh well, the organizer was like so lame beyond belief!! Unlike I really like the artist, I'm not attending any of their event again, I swear! Can you imagine, all ticket holders in just one entrance? Gen Ad, Lower Box, Upper Box, VIP. Of course, it was chaos! Some Koreans I believe were taken aback by how disorganized it was.. But that's about it, the negative ended outside, once inside, everything was dreamy...

2. WE WERE SO LUCKY!! our seats were maybe 3 rows from one corner of the T-shaped stage. We were so excited because we know Bigbang will be spending a loooot of time in our section. and they did! and what even made it sweeter was, because the concert's started and no one was on the first row, we went there and everyone stood on chairs, so we were practically an arms reach from the stage and level with it. It was only after the end of the concert that maybe those seats were celebrity Joseph Bitangcol and friends lol they arrived just before concert started but didnt sit and just stood next to the stage. Oh well, they didnt mind and i believe they prefer where they were anyway, right in front of us. We even took pictures with him afterward.

3. Hahahah they prohibited digicams and they made the annoucement a day before the concert. We knew DSLR's are not gonna be allowed but wtf! now we can only use phones??! But I didn't really worry much about it cos I know one way or another, I'm gonna have my digicam with me when I step into that concert hall. And of course, it did. A little bit of acting and poker face and creativity  was all it took lol. Once inside though I think I made a scene cos I knew they were not gonna confiscate my cam if they saw me and just call my attention cos i saw some people who were able to bring in theirs recording the concert too so.. However, I seem to have forgotten about the fact it was illegal and i was so engrossed into recording when my concert mate noticed Joseph and people around him looking at me. Turned out the guards was shining his flashlight on me and my cam hahaha! I was so oblivious! Ooppps!

4. Met an online friend and fellow YG fans!! It's always great meeting fellow fangirls cos we seem to speak a different language. There's this instant bond. You have to be a fangirl of someone, anyone, to be able to fully understand the world we live in xD

5. The concert was just amazing! I couldn't really say anything anymore. The fact that I've been watching them through videos online for the past 3 years or so and to finally see them in person? It was surreal!! I was totally enjoying myself, dancing, waving my lightstick, I was so in the moment. I couldn't care less if I look awkward or anything. I was in the company of thousands of VIPs. They understand. We were all feeling the same way. At one point, the entire arena was singing a song in Korean hahah freaking amazing! The boys were awesome.

I so love GD. His aura is soooo different. Princely. Plus he knew a lot of tagalog words hahha. more than the others were able to say that night. Towards the end of the concert he just let out these stream of Tagalog words : Mahal  Ko kayo. Paalam. Salamat. Magandang Gabi. Love you Jiyong!

Youngbae! sexy beast, you! hahaha i love him for always staying on our of the stage, stripping off his shirt, dancing so sexily, but still being so cute!!! Love you YB!! plus! it was super watching Wedding Dress performed live! like, finally!

TOP-sshi!! i'm bummed we didn't get to sing you happy birthday as planned. But I'm sure you felt all our love. I was actually surprised he got the most screams. More than GD. BUT we love you all. :)) I'm not even gonna say he's hot, cos that's just like, being redundant. I mean, he's TOP :p Saranghae!

Seungri-ah! well well, our surprise of the night! He practicaly ruined all biases list that night! When did you get so manly and handsome Ri! No wonder you have all  these scandals lol love you!

Daesung!! I really really loved your bright smiles! and you were so handsome too! Man, that body was to die for hhahaha! You were so funny when they were pouring water all over you. You literally took a shower on stage.fully clothed. funny. and well, hot. hahah! saranghae Daesung-ah!

Ahhh, my manner of writing changed haha. I didn't notice I was addressing it to them as if they can read this. Oh well, I'm sure by some cosmic power, they will feel how much I love them. :)

Well, here's what I managed to capture on camera:

Subspace Coffee House

GF Grand Emerald Tower
F. Ortigas Jr. Rd.
Pasig City

"The science of coffee. The Seoul of Design. And the coffee breaks in between."

Okay..  so I stole that from Subspace's tumbler page cos it pretty much sums up what the coffee shop is all about: great coffee plus  a k-pop vibe going on. I discovered this place a couple month's back via facebook. They were having Wednesday movie nights featuring Asian films (I'm sold!) and mentioned something about k-pop too, so I asked "When do you usually have k-pop themed nights?". The answer came almost immediately: "Every night is k-pop night!". Omo! Double sold! I have been wanting to visit ever since and after a friend and I attended a Korean Film Festival, we decided Subspace would be a fitting way to end the day.

As soon as we walked in, I heard GD's voice crooning his latest song That XX - that moment - it was simply sublime. Here are some pics, I didn't forget to get as much as I can ^.^
