the first time i heard this song, i was on my way to work at around 3am (yes, i have a weird work schedule ^.^). It was too quiet, typical of the early morning hours. and cold. Then I heard this and I was so deeply moved. I didn't know it was on my playlist. I had a new phone and for a week i didnt really do anything with it, no new files, no pictures, nothing. And so my friend decided to take the matter into her own hands and saved some music on it. So thanks to her, I got to listen to this.
What moved me was her reference to herself as a ghost. yea a ghost of her past self. But for me, I was thinking a ghost is when you're invisible. When some people don't get you. They see you but they don't really see you for what you are. They don't see the world the way that you do. And then her line about dancing slowly in an empty room. Well that did it for me. It's like overdosing on loneliness. A ghost dancing slowly in an empty room. No other image could picture "loneliness" as vividly as that. This song perfectly captured my sentiments: wrong world. wrong time. smh
